El Paso Zoo

The El Paso zoo is an extremely popular zoo with both tourist and locals alike flocking there all year round. They have a wide range of animals on show, from local wildlife to some of the more exotic and rare species of the world.

The zoo boasts an elephant complex, large aviary, sea lion exhibit, as well as endangered animals such as the Indochinese tigers, Asian elephants, Sumatran orangutans, siamangs, Malaysian tapirs, and the critically endangered Amur leopard.

The El Paso zoo is located on 18 acres of land and has 240 species of animals. There are 700 fish; 500 mammals, reptiles, amphibians and birds; and 500 invertebrates. All of these animals live in their natural habitat at the El Paso zoo, where there is a reptile house, an aviary and various other exhibits for visitors to enjoy.

It is nice to know that the El Paso zoo is a member of the American Zoo and Aquarium Association (AZA). This is an organization that envisions a world where people will respect, value and conserve both animals and nature alike.
